Monrovia Music Festival

Updated: Jun 20, 2018

Hardly Sisters just played at the 5th Annual Monrovia Music Festival this past Sunday June 3, 2018. The Fest featured a craft beer garden, food trucks, artisans, vendors, art, free kid's activity booths hosted by nonprofits, and the Bark Park for leashed, friendly dogs.

Hardly Sisters opened the festival at noon playing an hour of our original music as well as a few cover tunes. We debuted Our latest original You're Gone, which was a hit – yay! Moss says this song plays itself and I agree – I can’t get it out of my head.

One of the organizers of the event, Carole Anne Kaufman, is a two-time world champion music whistler known as “The Whistling Diva”. I found this out after I heard her amazing rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, I didn’t know it was possible to whistle that high, clear, and accurate – wow!

We hope to perform at this festival again as it was a really fun event. Carole told us we exceeded her expectations, which she said were high to begin with, and that the crowd is not usually “glued” to the stage as they were when we performed so I’m, thinking we’ll be back.

I’m waiting to get pictures from Ricardo Cornejo, the event photographer and will post them when I do.

That’s all for now ~ Lisa
